# Vector

> Vector is a free, open-source, decentralized private messenger built on the Nostr protocol. It provides full end-to-end encryption with no KYC, no metadata tracking, and no ads, running over a global relay network with no central server to shut down.

Vector supports private one-to-one messages and fully encrypted Communities — servers with channels, roles, admins, and invites — powered by the in-house Concord protocol, where even the relays carrying the traffic cannot read a single message. It includes embedded Tor (via arti-client), multi-device and multi-account support, remote signing over NIP-46, voice messages, custom emoji packs, and more. Vector runs on Android, Windows, macOS, and Linux, and is developed in the open by Formless Labs.
